Our sleep expert Lucy Wolfe offers her great tips for how to achieve great sleep for your baby. Here’s tip #5…

Lucy says:

“Try to avoid getting into a situation where your baby requires lots of input from you to get them to go to sleep.

So if you are always hold them to sleep, feed them to sleep, rock them to sleep. As time goes by it will actually rely on those associations and they will find it really difficult to cycle through their natural sleep phases.

So in the beginning you can’t work off my Percentage of Wakefulness approach that I talk about more in my book. And the later on if you’re finding it difficult to transition from those strategies then I typically would recommend that you use my Stay and Support approach.”
